Jason Tavares Photography

I’ve been into photography for a bit over a year. I’m still trying to find my own style. 

My problem is that i have so many influences, from the masters such as Ansel Adams and Henri Cartier Bresson, to more modern photographers such as Gilad Benari and Marcin Stawiarz.

The best photographers have such a distinctive style that you can tell just by looking at their pictures who shot it. Most importantly, they make you feel something. I guess my goal as a photographer is to take pictures that elicit some sort of visceral response.

I shoot with a Canon 5D and whatever prime lenses i have at the time. I’m pretty much at f/1.4 and 1600 iso all the time. I don’t like tripods or flashes. I have my camera with me always, and i like to travel light.
